The actor in costume said something similar about the earth uniting in peace. Around then I learned Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?, the "Who will watch the watchmen?" adage from popular news rumination of the epigraph of the Tower Commission report on the Iran-Contra affair. When I read The Watchman I guessed these zeitgeist connections were not accident. But I have no proof.
