Talking to Marco Cohen reminded her of talking to Ashley Bradley. It was like opening up the dictionary and the encyclopedia, like falling into a river whose undertow was information and ideas. Before she’d met Ashley Bradley, before she’d met Marco Cohen, she hadn’t known people could contain so much, so many thoughts and opinions, so many things to say that you could think about for days and days after you spoke with them. Eventually, she wanted to strangle Marco Cohen just to shut him up; but at first, and for years, she enjoyed being swept along by his passions. She never had a chance, on the other hand, to tire of Ashley Bradley.
