Two months later, he killed himself. He shot himself through the right eye in the heart of campus, between the grand Cathedral and the tiny Chapel, on a Wednesday in the fall, the first of November. She released her video, just as they’d planned, exactly two weeks after the event. She knew the video would mean the likely end of her manifestation career. She accepted that; she even welcomed it. Money would come from somewhere else; it always did. Some new online audience might even honor her, to shower her with gifts, for the audacity of her performance, of her sympathetic explanation of Jacob Morrow’s bloody geste.
